Scholarships for newly admitted students

Article (7)

  1. Subject to the provisions of Article (8) of these Instructions, the following provisions shall apply to Jordanian students.
  1. academically outstanding student who enrolls at the university shall be offered a semester grant covering the fees of the credit hours if his/her average in the Jordanian high school is as follows:
    1. Full grant if the student's average is 98% or above.
    2. Half grant if the student's average is 95% - 97.9%.
    3. Quarter grant if the student's average is 90% - 94.9%.

A new academically outstanding student who enrolls at the university will receive a semester grant covering the credit hours he / she registers if he / she graduated with IG, BS, IB, SAT2 diplomas with the same average mentioned in paragraph (a) of this article after calculating the difference between the highest rate in the Jordanian high school and the highest rate in the above-mentioned diplomas.آ The difference is subtracted according to the rates mentioned in (a, b, c) of item (1). 

B.

  1. For the purposes of competitive admission, five marks shall be added to the average of the new artistically or academically outstanding student who is registered at the university, provided that the minimum required average is met according to the admission criteria prescribed by the Higher Education Council in Jordan.
  2. The Committee shall lay the foundations for determining the athletic and artistic excellence.
  3. Paragraph (A) of Article (7) shall apply to students who excel in sport or art after having been granted five additional marks on their averages.

C.     Paragraph (a) and (b) of this Article may be applied by a decision of the Board to non-Jordanian students.

 

Article (8)

The grant provided for in Article (7) of these Instructions shall be withheld in the following cases:

  1. If the student's cumulative average in two consecutive semesters is less than 70%. Summer semester is not counted for this purpose.
  2. If the student's load in the semester is less than 15 credit hours except for the semester the student is expected to graduate. The credit hours registered by the student outside his / her study plan shall not be counted.
  3. If the student is given any disciplinary punishment of the degree of warning or above.
  4. These grants or any other grants approved by the university shall not apply to students who have chosen to study a semester or a full academic year at a university participating in the memorandum of understanding for exchange of students; instead he / she shall pay the full tuitions.

Article (9)

If the university suspends the outstanding student's grant according to the provisions of Article (8) above, it shall be returned to him / her after satisfying all the conditions mentioned in Article (8).

Partial Scholarships

The American University of Madaba offers Partial scholarships based on merit and academic excellence based on the average of jordanian secondary school Certificate (Tawjihi) results or its equivalent as follows:

  • Applicable to credit-hour tuition fees only.
  • These partial scholarships shall be subject to the University bylaws and regulations **and shall not apply to the summer session.
  • Applicable for all students who hold Jordanian secondary school Certificate (Tawjihi) or its equivalent, as well as Palestinians or Arabs 48 who the conditions of admission apply on.
  • The above partial scholarships do not include the fees of any exchange program under MOUs with the partner university for a semester or academic year that students chose to register in.
  • The partial scholarship is approved for one year (2017-2018) the approval is re-evaluated annually for approval of continuity/discontinuity.
  • If two partial scholarships are present the higher is effective.

 

How can students register?

Students can register either at the Admission and Registration Department on campus,

Students can also register through AUM liaison office located at Jabal Al-Weibdeh, Amman, Saturday and Sunday, from 9:30 to 15:00.
