AUM Welcomes the Director of Madaba Civil Defense

The President of the American University of Madaba welcomed the Director of the Madaba Civil Defense Directorate and his assistants in a meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of public safety and community awareness.

As part of this collaboration, a team from the Madaba Civil Defense Directorate organized a public safety awareness activity on campus. The team conducted a practical demonstration using the “Hazard House” model, explained the types of fire extinguishers and their proper use, and provided information on vital signs such as blood pressure and blood sugar levels. They also demonstrated first aid and rescue techniques to help minimize complications resulting from accidents.

The activity also included awareness sessions on winter-related hazards, highlighting safe practices when using heating devices, handling gas leaks, preventing vehicle skidding, and avoiding electric shocks, while emphasizing the importance of safety and prevention measures at home during the winter season.

The event witnessed active participation from university students and staff, creating an engaging environment that promoted a culture of safety and social responsibility within the university community.

This initiative comes as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to cooperate with national institutions—particularly the Civil Defense Directorate—to promote awareness and strengthen preventive culture across the academic community.
